Starward Solera Single Malt Whisky (750ml)
- In stock
Starward Solera is a single malt whisky from Melbourne, matured exclusively in Australian Apera (fortified wine) casks. It follows the traditional Spanish solera method, in which young whisky is perpetually blended with mature stock. It has taken gold medals at the World Whiskies Awards for multiple years running.
Mood: raisin, caramel, sunshine.
The whisky that made the world take Australian single malt seriously. Rich, fruit-driven, and unmistakably sherried without ever tasting like a Scottish cask.
Tasting Notes
The nose lifts with ripe orchard fruit, raisin, toffee, and vanilla. It is soft and rounded on the palate, where the Apera cask influence carries caramel chews, creme brulee, fig, and nougat. The long, juicy finish lingers on raisin sweetness and a touch of oak spice.
Food Pairing
This is a whisky for the dessert course. It is excellent with sticky date pudding, dark chocolate, aged hard cheeses, or a fruit-forward cigar. Pour it neat in a Glencairn or over one large rock.
