The semi-dry middle ground between Kesser's heavy kiddush bottle and a true dry red - the 1.5L is the seder-table workhorse.
Mood: Seder, second-day Yom Tov lunch, anyone who wants kiddush wine without the syrup.
Our sommelier says
Garnet in the glass, with Concord's signature candied fruit nose pulled back about halfway toward dry. The palate carries fruit and just enough residual sugar to read as soft, but it finishes cleaner than the sweet bottle and leaves room for food. Mevushal, so it pours all night without anyone watching the cup. The magnum is sized for a full seder table.
Tasting notes
Concord grape, black cherry, light cooked-fruit note. Soft, balanced, light residual sweetness, mild tannin. Cleaner than the sweet Kesser, gentle fruit echo.
Food pairing
Seder cups, brisket, roast chicken, sweet kugel, charoset.
