A Bordeaux-style Cabernet-Merlot grown at 900 meters in the mountains around Jerusalem - Michel Murciano's Jerusalem Heights label, eighteen months in new oak.
Mood: The serious Shabbos table. The guest who wants Old World style from Israeli soil. The Yom Tov seudah that warrants the cellar pick.
Our sommelier says
Deep ruby-purple, non-filtered, with weight in the glass. The nose layers lush cherry and dark fruit over chocolate, black pepper, and the aromatic spice signature of eighteen months in new French and American oak. Cabernet leads on structure, Merlot rounds the mid-palate. Full-bodied with the dense, slightly chewy texture non-filtration gives a serious red. Long, spice-driven finish. Decant thirty minutes; built to hold in the cellar.
Tasting notes
Lush cherry, dark fruit, chocolate, black pepper, aromatic spice. Full body, dense, chewy texture, ripe tannin, oak-integrated. Long, spicy, composed.
Food pairing
Standing rib roast, lamb shoulder, slow-braised short ribs, aged hard cheese (after the wait), Yom Tov seudah.
