The Hakushu Single Malt Japanese Whisky 12 Year (750ml)
- In stock
The Hakushu 12 Year comes from Suntory's forest distillery at the foot of the Southern Japan Alps, where it is aged at least twelve years in the cool mountain air. This crisp, gently smoky single malt sets bright green-apple freshness against a wisp of woodsmoke, and it is one of Japan's most distinctive single malts.
Mood: Cool forest air.
Tasting Notes
The nose brings basil, green apple, and pine needle, wrapped in soft woodsmoke and orange peel. Sweet and layered on the palate, it moves from pear, mint, and honey to citrus, vanilla, and a whisper of peat. The finish is long and clean, showing green tea, bright grapefruit, and a fine thread of oak.
Food Pairing
Drink it neat or over a large cube of ice, where it is beautiful. It is a natural beside grilled salmon, smoked brisket, or a board of hard cheeses, and its gentle smoke also holds its own next to a good cigar.
