Hajdu Grenache (750ml)

This is Jonathan Hajdu's California Grenache, small-batch and single-vineyard, and made the way Hajdu makes everything, which is hands-off, full-bodied, and unfiltered. It is a serious New World Grenache, yet it still drinks like a Mediterranean wine.

Mood: Wild strawberry, brambly, generous.

Tasting notes

The nose gives wild strawberry, raspberry, sweet pepper, and dried herb. It is full-bodied, with ripe red fruit, soft tannins, and a layered savory mid-palate. The finish is long and warming, with red berry and a touch of cocoa.

Food pairing

For grilled lamb, hearty cholent, hard cheeses, and steakhouse cuts at a simcha.
