Chateau Sainte Marguerite is one of the eighteen Cru Classe estates of Cotes de Provence, family-run by the Fayards and farmed 100% organic since 2003. The Cuvee Fantastique Red is a Grenache and Syrah selection from the best plots, bottled in the estate's signature engraved bottle.
Mood: Provencal red, deep, refined.
A Cru Classe Provencal red done kosher, organic, and vegan, rare on all three counts. Dark berries with a thread of garrigue, and a bottle that alone earns a place on the yom tov table.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby. The nose is blackcurrant, plum, and dark cherry with delicate notes of spice, vanilla, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is full-bodied and harmonious, smooth ripe tannins carrying blackberry, cassis, and a whisper of licorice. The finish is long and refined.
Food Pairing
A serious Shabbos yom tov red. Ideal with roast lamb, herbed beef tenderloin, seared duck breast, or a mushroom-forward risotto. Also excellent with aged hard cheeses.
