A kosher Barbera from Cascina Perrone, a small Piedmont producer in the Monferrato hills. Grapes are hand-harvested in mid-September. Medium-to-full-bodied, ruby-red, non-mevushal, under Rabbi Rottenberg supervision.
Mood: Piedmont, ripe, table-red.
Sommelier
"A real Piedmont Barbera under a serious European hechsher — not a common combination on the kosher shelf. Save it for dinner, not for kiddush."
Tasting notes
Ruby-red. Intense on the nose with a bouquet of ripe red fruits. Powerful on the palate with a soft finish.
Food pairing
Classic Piedmontese and red-sauce pastas, veal, grilled beef, pizza, hard aged cheeses.
