Carmel's flagship black-label Cabernet from Israel's Upper Galilee, founded in 1882 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild of Chateau Lafite. Fourteen months in French oak, mevushal, kosher year-round and for Passover — the bottle for the Shabbos table that wants Israel's most historic winery doing its house grape.

Tasting Notes

Ripe cassis, blackberry, dark cherry, cedar, tobacco leaf, a wisp of vanilla. Full-bodied and velvety with layered black fruit, French-oak spice, soft chocolate, and well-integrated tannins running through a long mid-palate. Long, smooth, and structured with cassis and gentle oak.

Food Pairing

Brisket, grilled lamb, ribeye, cholent, hard aged cheeses, or any Shabbos dinner where the wine should match the meal.

Israel's oldest winery's most poured Cabernet — the no-fuss flagship that has been on Friday-night tables since the modern Israeli wine industry began.

Cassis, French oak, Galilee night.
