Boukha Bokobsa Fig Brandy (700ml)

The Bokobsa family has distilled this original Tunisian fig eau-de-vie since 1880. Boukha means "alcohol vapor" in Judeo-Arabic. It is a crystal-clear, smooth fig brandy, and North African Jewish celebrations from Rosh Hashanah to Purim and Pesach are anchored by it.

Tasting notes

It opens with dried Mediterranean fig, under layers of honeyed raisin, almond blossom and a whisper of cinnamon. The palate is dry and silky, with no rough edges, a touch of orchard nuttiness and concentrated fig fruit. The finish is clean, long and faintly spiced, and it warms without heat.

Food pairing

This is the traditional Sephardic digestif. After a Shabbos or Yom Tov meal, pour a small measure and drink it neat. It is lovely with dates, dried figs, halva, walnuts, or a slice of honey cake. It also makes an elegant base for a Purim toast, or an unusual pour for Pesach kiddush.
