Dave Scheurich, a 40-year industry veteran, hand-selected this 6-year Kentucky straight bourbon. It was then finished in genuine kosher port wine barrels, which add richness.

Two things are behind this bottle: Dave Scheurich's Woodford Reserve pedigree, and Royal Wine's access to actual kosher port barrels. Most port-finish whiskies fail kashrut on the cask source alone. Boondocks is OU-certified because its port casks are as well. Drink it neat from a Glencairn.
Tasting notes
Raisin, vanilla bean and dark cherry come with a curl of cedar smoke. Bourbon caramel leads, and through the mid-palate the port brings stewed dark fruit, fig, and baking spice. It is long, warming and gently sweet, with oak tannin and a last whisper of toasted nut.
Food pairing
Pour it neat in a Glencairn after dinner, set it next to dark chocolate or pecan-praline desserts, or build it into a kosher Manhattan.
