This is Barkan's flagship Platinum Cabernet in magnum format. The fruit is from the Upper Galilee and spends eighteen months in oak, and it is bottled non-mevushal in 1.5L for the long Yom Tov table. Gold medals at Mundus Vini and Catavinum back the program, and the format does the rest of the talking.

Tasting notes
Black cherry, blackberry, nutmeg, toasted oak, fresh herb, and a graphite edge. It is medium-to-full bodied, with concentrated blue and black fruit, hints of tobacco and licorice, medium-plus acidity, and mouth-coating tannins. The finish is layered, long, and mouth-filling, with spice and cedar.
Pairing
Serve with lamb shoulder, standing rib roast, aged hard cheese, slow-cooked cholent, or a Yom Tov seuda.
