Vallepicciola Pievasciata Pinot Nero Toscana IGT (750ml)
- In stock
- Not Mevushal
- Kosher for Passover
Tuscany is not where you expect to find Pinot Nero, yet Vallepicciola's Pievasciata line argues for it convincingly. The grapes grow high in the hills above Castelnuovo Berardenga, and the result is an elegant, bright Pinot that speaks with a Tuscan accent.
Mood: elegant, red-fruit, alpine.
Kosher Pinot Nero from Tuscany. Not something you see every day. Serve slightly chilled, and let the Italian mountain fruit do the talking.
Tasting Notes
The colour is an intense ruby-red touched with violet nuances. Wild strawberry, cassis, and pomegranate rise on the nose. In the mouth it is persistent and fresh, with red-berry fruit and gentle spice, and silky tannins carry its light-bodied Tuscan structure.
Food Pairing
An elegant pick for Shabbos lunch. Pour it with roast chicken with rosemary, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or a dairy meal that includes Brie or aged goat cheese. It is gorgeous too next to lightly seared duck and tuna crudo (kosher-appropriate).
