Metzuda is a family winery in Givat Ye'arim, founded in 2011, and this is its boutique Merlot from the Judean Hills. For the SATAF bottling, fruit is handpicked in the Jerusalem hills and framed in restrained oak.

Tasting notes
The nose gives ripe cherry, prune, cocoa, and a whisper of fresh herb. It is medium-full, with soft tannin, plum fruit, and gentle oak spice. The finish is long and savory, the cocoa and herb fading slowly.
Food pairing
Pour it with Shabbos roast chicken, brisket, or mushroom kugel, and at Yom Tov tables that want a mehadrin red.
