Our sommelier says
The color is deep purple and the nose could only be Concord, with jam, candied grape and a whisper of cooked fruit. It is sweet and round on the palate but not syrupy, and it has the soft tannin that well-made Concord gives. The finish is clean, with no harsh edge of alcohol. The 1.5L size is meant for tables of ten or more, where a single bottle must cover kiddush and a second glass too.
Tasting notes
Blueberry, Concord grape jam and candied violet. Round and sweet, with jammy black fruit and gentle tannin. Soft and clean, with a grape note that lingers.
Food pairing
Challah and Friday-night kiddush, sweet kugel, fruit compote, or the four cups of the seder.
