This is the flagship Mevushal Cab from Hevron Heights. The fruit is from the Judean Hills and it ages 18 months in oak, so it arrives polished and ready for the caterer. It is built for the simcha kiddush, where the gabbai doesn't want to think twice.

Mood: Warm, ripe, sun-baked.

Tasting notes

The nose has ripe raspberry, black pepper, aromatic Middle Eastern spice, and a hint of oak vanilla. It is medium-to-full bodied, with ripe red and black fruit, balanced tannin, and warm spice on the mid-palate. The finish is round and lingering, with sweet spice and dark berry.

Food pairing

For grilled meats, lamb kebab, mezze plates, and brisket, or whatever comes off the charcoal on Friday night.
