The Double Cask Matured 12 is Aberlour's flagship—dual maturation in American oak and Spanish Oloroso butts gives the whisky its signature plum-and-honey richness without the heavy tannin of a fully sherried dram.
Tasting notes
Honeyed apple, dried apricot, vanilla custard, cinnamon, a swirl of marzipan. Stewed orchard fruit, raisin, toffee, ginger spice, walnut, gentle oak. Medium-long, warming, slightly nutty—soft sherry sweetness fading into oak spice.
Food pairing
Apple tart, aged Gouda, roasted pecans, or a quiet end to a long meal.
