Yiron is Galil Mountain Winery's flagship red blend from the Upper Galilee in northern Israel, grown at 420-800 meters on the winery's own vineyards. Despite the register title, Yiron is not a Syrah -- it is a Bordeaux-leaning blend, roughly 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 7% Syrah.
The wine is aged about 16 months in French oak barrels, showing black cherry and blackberry fruit alongside dried herb, vanilla, and oak notes.
Galil Mountain Winery, founded in 2000, was Israel's first vineyard operation to receive accredited sustainable certification.
