Our sommelier says
Founded in 1964 and reborn under Angus Dundee in the 2000s, Tomintoul's house style is light, malty, and unhurried. The 16 Year is matured in refill American oak hogsheads in the distillery's warehouses just outside Ballindalloch.
Tasting notes
Heather honey, vanilla, ripe pear, almond blossom, a wisp of malt biscuit. Soft barley sugar, orchard fruit, white chocolate, a gentle herbal lift, light spice. Medium, clean, slightly creamy—malt sweetness with a quiet oak farewell.
